Making these pages has been pretty entertaining and fun to play around with to customize them to how I wanted them which is pretty cool. I am most proud of my concerts pages because of its overall organization and appearance to viewers. I am least proud of my index page because I feel that it is unorganized and looks the worst compared to everything else, it’s just a very unpleasing home page. Creating these pages has sort of sparked an interest of mine to try to create a website over the summer for fun. I mostly like creating this website’s aspects such as my animation an banner in which they both add liveliness to my website. The banner was time consuming but so worth it in the end in that it added that ‘booming’ effect that I was looking for on all of my pages.
The main color of my logo was yellow and according the color theory website it represents brightness, creativity, and warmth. The logo contains many colors to represent aspects such as: warmth, mystery, strength, extravagance, and confidence. The hex code for the main color (middle portion of the image) is #e5bd44. For my original tagline I chose to go with something along the lines of "Dream On, Rock On, Move On". Th rendering process was very time consuming but it created something awesome in the end. I think the easiest thing was probably filling in the middle piece and outline with color and using the burn and sharpen tool to make it look like a real explosion. The thing I thought was difficult during the rendering process was probably outlining everything and making it look nice with specific colors. I have to say the tool that did the most work for me in this process was most likely the burn tool because it really created that explosion feel to the picture that I was really hoping for.
The Index page to me is the most important page to most modern websites. This was probably the most difficult page to make well because it is the template to the rest of the website. One thing I liked that was a difference from intro was the vertical navigation and that it was able to change with just some simple coding. One thing I didn't like with my index page is that it seems like the layout of my tables and title and just everything looks very unorganized. If I had to rate my website as it stands out of 10 I think I would give it about a 5 because I feel like I could have worked on it so much harder than I did and I will devote some more time to make it better than it is.
Screenshot: Page 2: Goal 1: Seeing more of my favorite bands in concert. It has always been a goal of mine to see more of my bands in concert. Reason behind that is because for being a person that loves music it is so cool seeing the people that make that music right in front of you on a stage performing live. Now I have already seen a couple of my favorite bands in concert but I feel the need to see more of them because it would my life a lot cooler. Another cool thing about seeing these bands live is that if I ever feel like learning how to play their music I can sort of spectate and adopt certain play-styles in order to recreate. This is also an opportunity to have some fun with your friends or even make new friends. Concerts do get pretty crazy because they are mostly metal concerts, so I will indeed be taking at least one other person with me at all times. I hope to see at least 10 bands in the next 10-15 years of my life mainly because they are the best years of life to come. List of Steps: 1. Organize data to choose best purchasing and traveling methods. 2. Ask friends if they would like to tag along. 3. Keep watch for bands that are coming close to St. Clair Shores. 4. Look for bands coming in clusters to get a 2-1 or even a 3-1 experience. 5. Save money to achieve tickets with good seats/positions. Page 3: Goal 2: Meeting some of my idols from my favorite bands. Idols are what keep me going in one of my current hobbies known as playing guitar. But I play the bass guitar which is very interesting and a lot of fun. My family has always been the musical type whether it be playing piano, singing, or playing guitar. My brother and father have both been encouraging me to play bass guitar because they really want to see me learn it. Speaking of my father he is actually one of my idols and he is the main reason why I wanted to start playing guitar. It will be a difficult process to meet some of these people but it will be worth it in the end. This is important to me because I feel that every time I meet one of these people it will make me work even harder and improving my skills and becoming sort of like them. List of Steps: 1. Figure out the most important idols to me. 2. Save extra money to get VIP Tickets. 3. Keep lookout to find bands coming close to the area. 4. Learn some techniques from my idols. 5. Get pictures of the people that inspire me. Page 4: Goal 3 (Achievable): Learn how to play my bass guitar. Learning how to play the bass guitar has been an awesome experience so far. I have had the support of both my brother and father both being guitarists to help me learn and learn the ropes into being an awesome guitar player. I have only been playing for about a month or two and I only know a couple parts to some of my favorite songs. I want to do this for something extra to do and something to relieve stress. I have really wanted this for some time so it's one of my hobbies now. My father has actually purchased most of the gear that I have and he helps me with any problems that I may have. At the end of the day this is the goal that I want to accomplish before the school year is over. It's going to be hard to move forward with this with all of the school work I am obtaining but I will achieve this goal of mine. List of Steps: 1. Figure out a few songs to play. 2. Study sheet music to learn how to read it effectively. 3. Listen closely to songs and try to play them without any source of information. 4. Practice getting a feel for the guitar hours on end. 5. Keep practicing the songs I already know how to play.
An amazing guitarist under the name of Jimi Hendrix once said "Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music." When I first heard music of my liking I thought nothing of it, but it changed me as a person. I felt like I had taken the next step into my life and started to wake up and realize my responsibilities as a human being. With these responsibilities I gave myself goals to improve my overall outcome as a person. Therefore, when given instructions to create a website on three of my bucket list goals I could not deny. Music being one of the most important aspects of my life helped me choose my goals. I made sure that my goals made some sort of progression for my life in which I chose to see more of my favorite bands in concert, to meet some of my 'idols' from my favorite bands, and the achievable short term goal to learn more about playing my bass guitar. I want to spread the message to the viewers of my website that music can help you move forward and make progression in their lives no matter the circumstances.

Here's the link just in case. Summary
In A.J. Juliani’s article ‘Why 20% time is good for schools” he focuses on the topic of genius/20% time and how students should take advantage of it to do something they would rather do. Not only do students adopt this policy but also people who work at big companies such as Google. With 20% time people are able to step away from they are currently working on and they have a chance to create or do something magnificent. With 20% time A.J. believes students can also solve some of society’s biggest problems because they can actually devote time to something they love and are passionate about. Parents and teachers are also realizing how great of a concept 20% time is and how it can be used to make their kids/students more successful. Editorial I think that 20% time is a very good aspect that is added to students learning process. I wish this was a thing when I was in my earlier years of school because I could actually do or learn more about something I wanted to. With that I could be ahead of myself today and learn more advanced topics. This is definitely a good idea because students can learn more versatile topics and advance in their knowledge. It can also be a bad idea because it can divert the attention from what is initially going to be learned. I also feel like genius time can also help students figure out what they want to do, what they want to professionalize in when they grow older. My Goals 1. Learn more on the bass guitar (Achievable Goal). I would like to learn more on my bass because it is a really cool instrument and I love playing it. Making and recreating music is pretty cool. 2. Meet some of my 'Idles' from my favorite bands. 3. See more of my favorite bands in concert. Keywords Innovate - make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products. Reinvigorate – give new energy or strength to. |
