Having previous experience in Photoshop Elements 9 I can say that the program is pretty solid and very professional when it comes to making excellent photo edits. One aspect that I liked the most about the program is using most of the tools is pretty much user friendly in that most of them are fun to play with and pretty self explanatory. If someone needs to develop further in using some of the tools they can but if someone has a basic understanding of Photoshop they will not struggle. One feature that has a spot on my dislikes list is that at times Photoshop can be very difficult in that when you try to make a simple change it can sometimes be unresponsive or difficult to complete what you had in mind. The only thing I did this year was rendering my drawings and making an animation using CS6 but I can say both of those were pretty cool experiences. I like the layout and professionalism of Photoshop because it can be fun if you actually have a creative mind and like to think about how your photos can look in the end. My favorite filter from Photoshop has to be the Stained Glass filter because it looks pretty cool on certain photos and can create an awesome and accurate stained glass replica of the photo. When using the Clone Stamp it is better to click rather than to drag because you can get a more accurate piece of the picture to use rather than a less accurate piece of the picture to use. Feathering basically makes the edges of pictures smoother and gets rid of the jagged edges.
Making these pages has been pretty entertaining and fun to play around with to customize them to how I wanted them which is pretty cool. I am most proud of my concerts pages because of its overall organization and appearance to viewers. I am least proud of my index page because I feel that it is unorganized and looks the worst compared to everything else, it’s just a very unpleasing home page. Creating these pages has sort of sparked an interest of mine to try to create a website over the summer for fun. I mostly like creating this website’s aspects such as my animation an banner in which they both add liveliness to my website. The banner was time consuming but so worth it in the end in that it added that ‘booming’ effect that I was looking for on all of my pages.
The main color of my logo was yellow and according the color theory website it represents brightness, creativity, and warmth. The logo contains many colors to represent aspects such as: warmth, mystery, strength, extravagance, and confidence. The hex code for the main color (middle portion of the image) is #e5bd44. For my original tagline I chose to go with something along the lines of "Dream On, Rock On, Move On". Th rendering process was very time consuming but it created something awesome in the end. I think the easiest thing was probably filling in the middle piece and outline with color and using the burn and sharpen tool to make it look like a real explosion. The thing I thought was difficult during the rendering process was probably outlining everything and making it look nice with specific colors. I have to say the tool that did the most work for me in this process was most likely the burn tool because it really created that explosion feel to the picture that I was really hoping for.
The Index page to me is the most important page to most modern websites. This was probably the most difficult page to make well because it is the template to the rest of the website. One thing I liked that was a difference from intro was the vertical navigation and that it was able to change with just some simple coding. One thing I didn't like with my index page is that it seems like the layout of my tables and title and just everything looks very unorganized. If I had to rate my website as it stands out of 10 I think I would give it about a 5 because I feel like I could have worked on it so much harder than I did and I will devote some more time to make it better than it is.
Screenshot: Page 2: Goal 1: Seeing more of my favorite bands in concert. It has always been a goal of mine to see more of my bands in concert. Reason behind that is because for being a person that loves music it is so cool seeing the people that make that music right in front of you on a stage performing live. Now I have already seen a couple of my favorite bands in concert but I feel the need to see more of them because it would my life a lot cooler. Another cool thing about seeing these bands live is that if I ever feel like learning how to play their music I can sort of spectate and adopt certain play-styles in order to recreate. This is also an opportunity to have some fun with your friends or even make new friends. Concerts do get pretty crazy because they are mostly metal concerts, so I will indeed be taking at least one other person with me at all times. I hope to see at least 10 bands in the next 10-15 years of my life mainly because they are the best years of life to come. List of Steps: 1. Organize data to choose best purchasing and traveling methods. 2. Ask friends if they would like to tag along. 3. Keep watch for bands that are coming close to St. Clair Shores. 4. Look for bands coming in clusters to get a 2-1 or even a 3-1 experience. 5. Save money to achieve tickets with good seats/positions. Page 3: Goal 2: Meeting some of my idols from my favorite bands. Idols are what keep me going in one of my current hobbies known as playing guitar. But I play the bass guitar which is very interesting and a lot of fun. My family has always been the musical type whether it be playing piano, singing, or playing guitar. My brother and father have both been encouraging me to play bass guitar because they really want to see me learn it. Speaking of my father he is actually one of my idols and he is the main reason why I wanted to start playing guitar. It will be a difficult process to meet some of these people but it will be worth it in the end. This is important to me because I feel that every time I meet one of these people it will make me work even harder and improving my skills and becoming sort of like them. List of Steps: 1. Figure out the most important idols to me. 2. Save extra money to get VIP Tickets. 3. Keep lookout to find bands coming close to the area. 4. Learn some techniques from my idols. 5. Get pictures of the people that inspire me. Page 4: Goal 3 (Achievable): Learn how to play my bass guitar. Learning how to play the bass guitar has been an awesome experience so far. I have had the support of both my brother and father both being guitarists to help me learn and learn the ropes into being an awesome guitar player. I have only been playing for about a month or two and I only know a couple parts to some of my favorite songs. I want to do this for something extra to do and something to relieve stress. I have really wanted this for some time so it's one of my hobbies now. My father has actually purchased most of the gear that I have and he helps me with any problems that I may have. At the end of the day this is the goal that I want to accomplish before the school year is over. It's going to be hard to move forward with this with all of the school work I am obtaining but I will achieve this goal of mine. List of Steps: 1. Figure out a few songs to play. 2. Study sheet music to learn how to read it effectively. 3. Listen closely to songs and try to play them without any source of information. 4. Practice getting a feel for the guitar hours on end. 5. Keep practicing the songs I already know how to play. Most web users hate normal font sizes because they have a hard time reading any font lower than 16 pixels. The harder your text is to read the less it will get read. The facts I found interesting in this article were: At age 40, only half the light gets through to the retina as it did at age 20. For 60 year old, it's just 20%. Also, the fact that 16 pixel text on a screen is about the same size as text printed in a book or magazine.
Plan of Action:
I plan on making a music score but simply making it look broken and distorted due to the page not found. I think for me and my flawed drawing ability this should be a fairly easy object to design and add to my website.
Summary: In Molly Cain's Article "6 Ways to Achieve Any Goal" she explains how you can effectively create and complete your goals by taking simple and easy actions. The author gets her reader's attention with added humor and thoughts in order to stay on the same page. There are obviously 6 steps or precautions to her method in which are all explained in an orderly fashion within the article. The steps begin with "Look at it" which basically explains to take a good look at your goals and see if they are able to be completed after a visual representation. We then move onto "Tell People" which tells us as readers to just talk to someone about our goals and they may just have the will to help you complete your goals. Next is "Break It Up" and I actually enjoy this one because it explains that many people abandon goals because they are too big for them to complete. In order to prevent that Cain has provided a strategy for that; Break up your goals so that they can be completed with ease. Another method is to "Set a Date" which is basically to record it on a calendar or an agenda to help us finish that specific goal. The articles finishes with Being realistic and committing which basically says that another way to make goals easier to complete is to make them able for you as a person to do. Also to commit to what you are doing because nothing just magically ends up finished without a little bit of effort. Editorial: I honestly loved this article because I fell the author is an amazing one and she did an excellent job getting her points across. As stated in the previous paragraph I liked how she used humor and her own thoughts to create an interesting article for her readers. This article actually kind of helped me realize that I need to get cracking on some of the things I would like to do before the year is over. Also before the trimester I would like to learn more on my bass guitar which I have made little progress on because of the mixture of school, work, and just pure laziness. I will say that it will be quite the journey but I must put in the effort to create something I have wished for a long time ago. I can say that I am ready to take the initiative and impress who I can with my new found skills on my bass guitar. Keywords: Noble – Having high moral qualities; A noble spirit; a solid citizen; and upstanding man; a worthy successor. Inaudible - impossible to hear; imperceptible by the ear. Plan of Action:
