Having previous experience in Photoshop Elements 9 I can say that the program is pretty solid and very professional when it comes to making excellent photo edits. One aspect that I liked the most about the program is using most of the tools is pretty much user friendly in that most of them are fun to play with and pretty self explanatory. If someone needs to develop further in using some of the tools they can but if someone has a basic understanding of Photoshop they will not struggle. One feature that has a spot on my dislikes list is that at times Photoshop can be very difficult in that when you try to make a simple change it can sometimes be unresponsive or difficult to complete what you had in mind. The only thing I did this year was rendering my drawings and making an animation using CS6 but I can say both of those were pretty cool experiences. I like the layout and professionalism of Photoshop because it can be fun if you actually have a creative mind and like to think about how your photos can look in the end. My favorite filter from Photoshop has to be the Stained Glass filter because it looks pretty cool on certain photos and can create an awesome and accurate stained glass replica of the photo. When using the Clone Stamp it is better to click rather than to drag because you can get a more accurate piece of the picture to use rather than a less accurate piece of the picture to use. Feathering basically makes the edges of pictures smoother and gets rid of the jagged edges.
First, I selected the background with the quick selection tool and added the Gaussian blur Filter to create a focus on the four of us in the picture. Then, I selected the four of us and added the pencil sketch effect to add a difference between the background and us the people. To finish off the picture I added the Lens Flare filter to make it look like the sun was intruding on in the picture even though it really wasn’t. |
First I choose the Very Pearly Whites effect on the smart brush tool and went over everyone’s teeth who were smiling in the picture. I then choose the dodge tool to make my father’s goatee look whiter than in the picture because it is that is what it looked like in person. Last touch up that I did was I took the burn tool and made everyone look darker than they were in the picture because we were under a tree and I wanted to make it seem like it was darker in the picture than it really was. |
I used letters S, O, V, I, U, P, ., and B I created a gorilla by layering each letter and rotating each of them. Then for the background I used the cookie cutter tool to make the trees in the background and the grass at the bottom of the image. All in all the gorilla is happy to be rubbing his stomach and sitting in peace of his homeland. |
