Well to start off I would like to say that this class is probably going to be one of the best classes I have ever taken related to computer sciences. I can see that I am going to get a lot of information out of it and it will be an awesome experience rather than a class that I am forced to take. When first arriving it was a little weird at first because I had felt like I was in a doctor's office waiting for my appointment but I was waiting for my mentor more practically speaking. But after that things just kind of kicked off and we got down to business. We started introducing each other and talking a little about what I wanted to learn and what my interests mainly are. Then we may have gotten a little off topic with a little video game talk but it didn't last long. Basically afterwards it was just a learning mass of information that was given to me. Shane gave me a fair amount of topics that I should research not only because they are interesting but he gave me some that would be informational that I could build upon my knowledge about computers. He also asked me if there was a specific program that I would like to learn and I wasn't sure so he said he would figure one out for me. I really liked the fact that he started off so strongly with all of the information because honestly it was what I was looking forward to doing in the course. He also gave a pre-employment exam to take just so he knew where I was at in IT knowledge and where we can focus on learning.
Audri's video was very inspiring and I believe that it shows every age not only adults should be persistent in their work and make sure that everything is 100% how they want it instead of only how they would like to do it. Something that seems to be difficult at work is being able to pinpoint a certain problem based on the description for some customers. I'm sure that ability comes over time for most technicians but to me it kind of feels like diagnosing a patient for a disease or something of the matter. But i'm sure after studying and classifying certain symptoms to certain problems is a no-brainer for most IT Technicians. Other than that it is fairly simple to understand what needs to be done unless you have a problem that is coming from something complicated like faulty hardware and fishy software.
